Rocío, owner of Bimbi Books, has combined her previous experience with her enthusiasm for literature to create a meeting point in Brussels for children and their favourite books.

So let me introduce myself, my name is Rocío, I’m from Almería in Southern Spain and I live in Brussels already over 10 years. Before, I had lived in different places like Italy or China. And I was working in another world almost literally, and one day I woke up in the middle of the night and thought, why don’t I open a children’s bookstore? Why not with many languages since this is what Brussels is, a multicultural city? I was struggling to find the books that I wanted for my kid and in different languages so I saw an opportunity. For children’s books, I don’t know about you, but I struggle if I have to buy them online, I want to see them, and touch them, and understand the story and how difficult they are, to see if it fits what my kid needs, so the idea grew in my mind. And about a year later here I am, enjoying life with children’s books in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, Dutch, German and English (we can talk about the process at another time if you want), I hope you will come and enjoy them with me.
