We have scheduled an activity for older kids & parents here. We will have a nice talk in Spanish “Introduction to fantasy for young readers” with author Paula de Vera that has published already several fantasy books for the young public (pre-teens and teens). During this talk with Paula we will make an intro of what the fantasy genre is about, and why it is so popular with kids, what elements are needed in a fantasy book and how to tell a good story, a selection of titles and recommendations from some iconic authors, some readings of extracts of Paula’s books and then some time for Q&A. The idea is to have parents and kids from 10 years old on that are interested in discovering more in this genre, that is very popular getting kids hooked on books. Paula’s books will be for sale and she will be happy to sign copies after the talk.
